The Open Mic UK is a nationwide singing competition and is “The Biggest Search for Unsigned Acts in the UK". This year, 9000 auditioned from across the country for a chance to get into the regional finals. After auditioning with my song 'Strange', I was invited to attend the regional finals held in Sheffield City Hall in September. The judges were pleased with my travelling song 'Wrinkles' which I wrote during a trip to South East Asia in 2012 and put me straight through to the Area Finals in Birmingham in November.  I performed 'In the Doldrums' in front of the panel at Birmingham NEC and was successfully placed in the top 5 judges scores, giving me a place in the Grand Final. The Final will take place on the 18th January where I will sing along side the top 24 ranked artists out of the original 9000. Watch this space to keep updated!

OPENMICUK Update from the Semi Finals!

Saturday 18th January was such an exciting day! I got the chance to perform 'Check' at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham along side my bassist Adam Harrison in the Grand Final of OpenMicUK. 9000 people auditioned for OpenMicUK this year so it was fantastic to make the final and to be able to play along side some seriously talented people. Very excited to have received the Future Music Award which gives me the opportunity to

work along side Mercury Award winning Andy Ross in his 'ASTAR STUDIOS' which has recently been voted in the top 4 studios of Europe. Thank you so much to my fabulous family, both real and extended, who have supported me with OpenMicUK and ferried me from place to place. You're all wonderful and I couldn't do it without you! Well done to the overall winner of the competition, 28 year old HEIDI BROWN with her song G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D - a thorougly enjoyable performance!
